Piero Procaccini

Piero Procaccini (Facilitator, Host) has been working in the field of Applied Improvisation for nearly two decades in a variety of capacities - instructor, performer, director, writer, and facilitator.  Past teaching credits include OneGroupMind, iO Chicago and Second City.

In his role as a program designer, he has collaborated with clients whose areas of focus run the gamut from Finance, to Manufacturing, to Consulting, to Pharmaceuticals, to Education.  So far, he has taught improv on four continents and also spent several years at sea on NCL ships, performing, directing, and teaching improv as part of the Second City ensembles on board.

He received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Neuroscience from Amherst College and spent seven years as a Research Technologist at Northwestern University.  More recently, he was one of the core team of designers involved in the Second Science Project - a partnership between Second City and the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago - which explored the intersection between improv and behavioral science.  Much of that work has its roots in looking to create meaningful pathways towards inclusive cultures.

Piero loves using improvisation as a low-stakes environment to explore tools that are useful towards better communication and collaboration when the stakes become high.
